RIVERHOUNDS AND HOTSPURS ANNOUNCE ACADEMY PARTNERSHIP

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds professional soccer team and the Hotspurs Soccer Club today announced a unique partnership to start a special developmental academy for boys and girls U-10 and younger.  The Riverhounds PLAYER Academy in cooperation with HOTSPURS SOCCER CLUB will be held at North Hills Soccer Club’s Reis Run Soccer Complex for eight training sessions this coming spring.  Riverhounds’ players will train the participants utilizing the curriculum of the Everton Academy from Everton FC of English Premier League.  The Riverhounds and Everton announced a partnership this past summer. 

Each Academy session will be 90 minutes.  The eight training sessions will be held:

·        Session 1- Monday March 31

·        Session 2- Monday April 7

·        Session 3- Monday April 14

·        Session 4- Wednesday April 30

·        Session 5- Wednesday May 7

·        Session 6- Monday May 12

·        Session 7- Wednesday May 21

·        Session 8- Wednesday May 28

The cost of the 8-week program will be $200. Players will receive a complete Riverhounds uniform of a shirt, shorts, and socks and a free ticket to a 2008 Riverhounds’ game. The Riverhounds compete in the USL-2 professional division, while the Hotspurs are a PA West Classic League club.  "We are delighted to have formed this partnership with the Riverhounds. We are convinced that providing this level of professional training will greatly benefit the player development in our surrounding communities," said Dan Grant, Director of Coaching, Hotspurs Soccer Club. This will be the only Riverhounds Player Academy offered in the northern suburbs for the spring season.
