Start in soccer:
At 6 years old I started playing football (soccer) at school with my friends. Which lead to joining a club team when I was 7 years old. And eventually signing two semi-pro contracts by 21.
I've been fortunate enough to have played alongside and coached by many professional football players back home in England.
Inspiration to coach:
While my father was the coach of my club team between the ages 6-16, in truth all I wanted to do was play the game of football. Coaching hadn't crossed my mind until I suffered a serious knee injury that ended my playing career at the age of 21. Since that time I switched to coaching (both football and basketball).
Favorite part of coaching soccer:
My favorite part of football as a coach has to be watching the development of young players. Seeing the journey they've taken, and the skills they've learnt as they grow to love the game of football, is one of the best feelings as a coach.
Tournaments are always fun as well as it's a great opportunity for players, parents, and coaches to get together and socialize!
Favorite player/team:
Favorite team: The Mighty Reds - LiverpoolFavorite ever player: Steven GerrardFavorite current player: Mo Salah
Growing up, football and basketball were my two main sports. I still like to head to the gym and get some shots up when I have some spare time away from the pitch.A lot can be learnt from playing other sports. I believe the skills I learnt from playing basketball helped me progress and excel in my football career.
