Start in soccer:

From an early age football (soccer) was/is/and has been everything. Playing at school and clubs grew my passion for the game. We would play every moment of the day that we could. It was just about playing. It’s very much a cultural thing and watching the game and following a team to support was life.

Inspiration to coach:

I was given the opportunity to coach my bosses two young sons at their local club. They were looking to get new coaches and sent us to get our FA (English Football Association Certification). After that course I was hooked. An application for a job with Major League Soccer Camps gave me the opportunities to come to America and coach in 12 different states, at all levels of clubs, meeting hundreds of top quality coaches. This only continued to develop my love and passion for coaching the game.

Favorite part of coaching soccer:

Games of course are fun and exciting, however, planning and delivering a session in training is something that I really love to do.

Getting players ready and developing them so that they can play the game the correct way is as good as the game itself. In the game you see the end product of a players work during that week and over the course of a season.

Favorite player/team:

I have been an Arsenal fan since day one. My dad was a fan and that’s where it started -- watching them on TV and going to watch games.  I have a few players who were just the best to watch:

  1. Dennis Bergkamp (Center Forward)
  2. Thierry Henry (Center Forward)
  3. Patrick Viera (Center Mid)
  4. Tony Adams (Center Back)

When not coaching soccer:

My favorite thing to do is skiing. I have travelled across part of Europe to ski in the Swiss and French Alps, and in Spain as well. Trips to Canada and out West will be achieved once my 4 year old daughter gets good enough to join the adventure.
