From Bedford, Pennsylvania, center midfielder Amber Thomas is joining the Pittsburgh Hotspurs (WPSL) Women’s First Team.

While at Mercyhurst University, Thomas played in 19 games while starting all of them. She recorded three goals and two assists for eight points and picked up one game-winning goal! She also earned All-PSAC Second-Team and United Coaches Division II All-Atlantic Region Third-Team.

“I’m excited to face new challenges and continue to grow and develop as a player and teammate,” said Thomas. “I love the game and playing for the First Team will give me the opportunity to compete.”

Prior to university, Thomas also played for Bedford High School where she was named two-time PSCA All-State Player and three-time Team MVP. She also achieved LHAC All Conference, 2018 State Champions, and finished high school with a career of 145 goals and 110 assists.

Thomas also played for AVID Soccer Club, Bedford County FC, Pittsburgh Riverhounds-ECNL, and HSA Storm.
