Building on our mission to grow the game in the Pittsburgh area, we’re excited to announce a second full site location for Hotspurs development. Beginning with the fall 2019 season, we have a Hotspurs North campus along with our original Harmarville site.
The site will be lead by Troy Mohney who already has started to build a group of highly qualified coaches.
“I’ve had a positive relationship with the Hotspurs staff for some time now, and looking at their mission and the pathway they have in place for players, it closely resonates with our group of coaches,” said Mohney.
The new North campus will train and play out of Family Sports Center in Butler, PA.
“Troy has already developed some top players in the Butler area. Together I’m confident we can continue to grow the opportunities for players in the northern Pittsburgh area,” said Hotspurs Academy Director, Tom Ovenden.
“Working closely together, we’ll align the phase model, the style of play, and look at how to incorporate the success they’ve seen under Troy into our original site location in Harmerville. We’re dedicated to ensuring the Hotspurs experience, regardless of which location you’re training at, is under the same philosophy and development model to provide players the greatest football experience possible,” added Ovenden.
“I’m buzzing for the growth of our Hotspurs program in the past year, and know that working with Troy on the North site, we’ll continue to shift the game in Pittsburgh.”
Tryouts for Hotspurs North U8-U11 teams will begin on May 27th, with U12 and older beginning June 3rd. To register and for full details, click here.
