Pittsburgh-native and Pitt Women’s soccer captain Dixon Veltri is putting on a different shade of blue and yellow this summer — joining the Pittsburgh Hotspurs (WPSL) Women’s First Team

“Dixon brings great experience to the midfield,” said Coach Tom (Tommo) Ovenden who coached the young Valtri. “She shows what it’s like to play at a high-level and with a calmness that will raise everyone around her.”

Currently a senior at Pitt, the center midfielder played her freshmen year at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and her youth years with Beadling Soccer Club and Fox Chapel High School.

“I am looking forward to continuing my training and playing at a high level this summer as I hope to play professional soccer in the near future,” shared Veltri.

“Also, I can’t wait to play with girls that I used to play with growing up in the Pittsburgh area!”

The Women’s First Team will play home games at Founders Field in Cheswick in May, June, and July. Get your season ticket jersey for all First Team games here:  https://hotspurs-sc-club-store.myshopify.com/
